Hashtags are everywhere these days. You see them on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, and now Facebook (ok, there are still problems with Facebook hashtags).

In this article, I'll give you three core hashtag strategies, for any social site. I'll also include a brief intro to #hashtags, for you newbies! Read More

With so many technologies being used in our systems and most issues arising within the photo editing, printing and uploading prcesses, we have broken the work flow up into computer and photography technology roles. Our photographers concentrate on ushering the attendees in, composition of the photo and the shooting of the images and our color correction photo editors take care of the time consuming steps of editing & adjustment of the images, photo printing, photo delivery & making of additional copies, visitor uploading and any internet connectivity processes for the photo experience. This team concept, keeps the line moving quickly, so we are able to complete a photo pose, edit, print and ready for uploading cycle in seconds, not minutes.

Alan Herzig, has a 20+ year background in computer system building, repair and troubleshooting. In additon, Mr. Herzig has completed both the CompTIA A+ and the CISCO CERTIFIED NETWORK ASSOCIATE 2 year course in computer network installation, operations and troubleshooting in 2007 and 2012 respectively. It is standard operating proceedure to always bring and connect 2 hi-speed photo printers with us to every job site. Our printer/upload stations are comprised of highly reliable professional electronic components. However, they contain many technologies converging within the one unit. Our high speed printers print at the rate of a 5x7 photo being ready, every 12 seconds. In our estimation, it is prudent that one printer be used as a backup, should the primary printer happen to fail or it becomes inoperable during the event. Additionally, we always make available 3 touch screen devices for visitor uploading and sharing of images at your event. Attendees sometimes can't remember their login passwords and need more time during the uploading process causing a bottleneck in the upload process. By having 3 upload screens, flow time is balanced and visitors are not waiting for an available upload screen.

Most of these locations employ a firewall device, for security purposes that prevents Two-way communication between computers operating on their network, which our uploading & survey touchscreen devices require for operation.

On an average, we can take about 100 photos per hour with one photo kiosk setup. In some cases, we have taken upwards of 150 - 175 photos per hour. The number of photos we can produce at the event is predicated on the graphics you choose and the setup location.

The uploading process is the time consuming portion of the entire process. Many visitors need a couple of tries to get into their social media account as they may have trouble remembering their login password. An automated kiosk usually has but one screen for social media uploading and sharing of the photos. Our kiosk offers visitors instant uploading to social media from 2 to 4 touch screens, depending on it's configuration. Additionally, as for automated photo kiosks and booths you will find that they still need a manned operator to guide visitors, as many visitors may not be familiar or comfortable in the kiosk's usage and technology simple due to infrequent or occasional usage by the visitor. Therefore, if your goal is saving space, manpower and time by using an automated photo kiosk, the savings isn't as pronounced as you might be led to believe by the unit's manufacturer.

Automated photo kiosks operate One user or group of users being photographed and then their image can be uploaded to complete the use cycle. We on the other hand, can accommodate persons and large groups being photographed in addition to 2 to 4 simultaneous users uploading to social media, with all functions coinciding from different cycles at the same time.

Our print station uses hi speed photo printers as found inside current automated photo booths and kiosks. The difference being, we carry 2 printers. The second is always powered up and fully connected and at the ready in backup mode. We also have at the ready a backup DSLR camera and a backup computer, should the need arise during an event.

Anything that can be taken using a photo kiosk camera can be shot with our DSLR cameras. Our photographer poses each shot, lessening the need for the retaking of images and we will call for an immediate reshoot in the event of an eye blink or other photo imperfection caused by a visitor.

All cameras require a focal distance from the lens to the subject. Something the kiosk developer does not wish to discuss openly. But, rather that you find out on your own once you have purchased their automated photo kiosk product.

Providing measurable results is crucial to gauge the effectiveness of any marketing strategy and is important to provide upper management. Branded photos can be measured in a variety of different ways:

  • Post your photos to a landing page on your website to measure page activity during and after the event.
  • Add your Facebook or Twitter account information to the photo and measure your additional fans and followers after the event.
  • Incorporate a unique offer code on the photo and measure the corresponding coupons or discounts redeemed after the show to measure sales.
  • Compare booth traffic or leads at events with and without the photo booth to help justify

A local videographer in Los Angeles contracted us and brought the wrong color temperature lighting for our needs and blew out his own step and repeat photo shoot for his client and a celebrity designer. However, we prefer to take care of our own lighting equipment which is specifically color balanced to our camera(s) and printers. Incidentally the temp is 5,600 degrees K. Additionally, we are happy to work with the client or marketing representative for an agency, on a one on one or direct basis so as to avoid similar instances from ever occurring again.
